Hi everyone! My name is Caroline & I work in the office and am the main first aider at Peebles High School. I have a huge passion for open water swimming, having swam the English channel in 2021 and have also completed many other endurance swims. In August this year I will be attempting the length of Lake Geneva, a swim of 45.5 miles which will take me over 26hrs of continuous swimming. This will be an ultra endurance swim, something that I have never attempted before. Am I nervous? YES! But, the support of my husband Grahame, my work colleagues and many friends will get me through it along with the 2 groups within PHS that are special to me. The sunflower 🌻 classroom for kids with complex learning abilities. These kids learn to develop social & emotional abilities and focus on real life skills & learning, in class & the wider school & in the community. Money raised would enable the department to continue with the breakfast club, access to wider school clubs & specific learning supports & equipment. The kids & staff are an awesome group! Quarriers resilience wellbeing service supports our young people to improve their mental health, to build confidence to achieve their goals and to develop the resilience to cope when times become tough. They help to deal with stress, anxiety and becoming overwhelmed. This service is so important to PHS . As a school we have dealt with many heart wrenching situations and Quarriers have been at the heart of them all ❤️
