Just a few years ago a few days before Christmas I was hit with the worst news imaginable. My father had died, very suddenly and unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. When this happened I pretty much went into a downward spiral, a spiral that I am only just coming out of and coming to terms with if I am honest.

Research suggests that figures as high as 1 in 20 of us in the UK could have a brain aneurysm. 1 in every 12,500 of these people's rupture. My dad did not survive, but some people do and for those the recovery is long, painful and some people sadly don't ever recover.

The money will go towards The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, raising awareness of this cause and supporting those and their families who also go suffer alongside them. For me, the hole will always be there... but if I can help to prevent other families having their lives ripped apart as me, my brothers and my step-mother did, I will do that.
