Joan is one of the loveliest ladies I've ever met and at 80 is one of life's true angels.
I have always had a deep respect for my elders and relish time spent with anyone who can tell me stories of their past, what they've done, been part of or accomplished in their life.
We can learn so much from our own parents/grandparents, I never underestimate how insightful their knowledge and advice can be.
Joan has a beautiful soul and has spent her life giving to others, happily putting people first ahead of herself without a second thought.
Now myself and some family really want to do something special for Joan which quite frankly is going to be a tough task as she's also fiercely proud and would rather deal with her current situation than ask for help.
In the last month we have seen astonishing levels of rainfall in Manchester and even had a month's worth in just one day!
This amount of rain has seen the flat roofed extention which houses a downstairs bathroom for Joan take an incredible beating.
The rainfall has left water seeping through light sockets meaning there's no electric and she has to use a torch when using the bathroom.
Its cold and the damp walls will inevitably lead to more mould etc.
The whole roof is unstable and needs either extensive repair or realistically completely replacing.
After getting some advice and quotes myself and some of Joan's family have set a target of £1600 to get this horrible problem sorted for her and get her quality of life back to what it should be.
Even the smallest of donations will be greatly appreciated Joan just has no way of affording this by herself.
If anyone reading this knows her please keep this page to yourself she genuinely will feel awful for putting anyone out.
But by hook or by crook we'll get this sorted for such a wonderfully loving and giving lady x
