Story
I have been involved in athletics since the age of 12 and am still involved today as a coach and athlete. When an athlete turns 35yrs old they become a Masters Athlete. This opens up a whole new world of competition, but in typical athletics style unless you are an elite athlete of about 23yrs old there is no funding.
This year the World Masters Athletics Championships are in Malaga. I have set a target to compete there in the W45 long jump.
With cap in hand and pride put aside, I am asking family, friends, athletes and strangers to help my dream of pulling on a Master GB vest a reality.

6 years agoWow, thank you so much everyone for helping me reach my target, I am very humbled. My final preparations have been given a boost yesterday when I became W45 British Master Long Jump Champion. The competition will be tough at the Worlds but to have the opportunity to represent my country fills me with pride.

6 years agoThank you so much to everyone who has supported me so far, I can't believe it is less than 2 weeks away, I can honestly say with out everyone's support I wouldn't be going. Masters Athletics is for the wealthy. British Champs tomorrow, hope the injury niggles stay away for another few weeks.

6 years agoThank you to everyone who has supported me so far I have had a further £150 off line donations too. Accommodation is booked and event entered, flights still to book then Malaga here I come. I will long jump on Sunday 10th September at the University stadium in Malaga.
