Story

Stacey and our daughter Chloe became friends through freestyle disco dance competitions several years ago and we parents followed their example. We count Stacey as our 3rd daughter and we took her on holiday with us every summer for 5 years. Angela is Stacey's mum and is one of the loveliest people you could meet. When she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of clear cell ovarian cancer last year it was pretty devastating. But Angela was her usual upbeat positive self and came through major surgery (3 enormous tumours hiding in there), chemotherapy and all the nasties that go with it. Her fighting spirit has never left her. But then, Angela has been fighting against the pain of a crippling disease for 25 years in the form of osteoarthritis & a degenerative disc disorder in her spine. And she never complains. And instead of staying at home feeling sorry for herself, she has worked for the past 15 years at the MacDonalds drive thru despite her pain & increasing loss of mobility. Oh, and 20 years ago she fought and won her first cancer battle. This lady really is something else!
Sadly, this week has seen the regrowth of the cancer in Angela's abdominal wall & lymph nodes, and the news that it is terminal. Yesterday was the first session of a chemo drug to try to slow the growth, but she suffered a very bad reaction to it very early on and the chemo had to be abandoned. Next comes another appointment to see if there is another chemo drug to try - fingers crossed.
I now know Angela's cancer fight is making life very tough financially. We'd like to raise as much as possible to ease that situation and give them the chance to make some special memories. These times should not be spent worrying about money! Also, Stacey is organising a party for her mum next month....a special party for a special lady.
So, please give a little (or a lot, lol) for one of the most unselfish, kindest, strongest, uncomplaining ladies who is so deserving!
Thank you.
