    Story

Bill lost both legs in a car accident 10 years ago and has received a range of helpful services - including 18 months in prison. So why is he begging? He is begging because he is homeless and in debt. Until his debt is paid he is not eligible for further help from local authority or charity services.

"Most homeless people in this area have brought their situation on themselves and can't get back into normal living". They are in a downward spiral into drugs, alcoholism and crime."

There is no real shortage of emergency accommodation, support or enrichment services for this group. They are all dealing with people who are unskilled, disorganised and depressed. Our idea is to provide temporary accommodation with mentoring and opportunities for individuals to contribute to their rehabilitation by taking part in renovation of accommodation in Whitwick They will have guided opportunities to learn new skills and move forward on a pathway that leads to independence and employment.

We have an ex-pub, The Haven, in Whitwick that can be developed to offer a range of accommodation. The wherewithal to make a start is needed so we are looking to raise around £5,000 to start a Help4Homeless Project with new energy and ideas..
