💚 Nathan’s Story

We’re fundraising for an incredible little boy named Nathan, who has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia at just 9 years old.

Nathan is one of the happiest, most easy-going kids you could ever meet — always smiling, full of energy, and never without a cheeky joke. He turned 9 on Sunday, the 5th of October, and celebrated with a sleepover surrounded by his cousins and best friend, followed by a fun day at the arcades and bowling with his dad, his dad’s partner, and their friends.

He seemed perfectly fine, maybe just a bit tired on the Monday after such a big weekend, and went off to school as usual. But that afternoon, the school phoned to say Nathan was looking pale and not himself. His mum picked him up, and by that evening he slept for 16 hours straight — something clearly wasn’t right.

The next day, after spotting a few unexplained bruises, Nathan’s mum took him to the doctor. During the appointment, the doctor found several swollen lymph nodes and sent them straight to the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh. By that evening, the family received the heartbreaking news that Nathan has leukaemia.

Despite everything, Nathan has faced every challenge with unbelievable strength and positivity. He’s been so brave through countless tests and treatments, and still manages to keep his trademark smile.

As you can imagine, this has completely turned the family’s world upside down. Between hospital appointments, looking after Nathan’s two siblings, and trying to keep life as normal as possible, things have become incredibly difficult both emotionally and financially.

We’re raising money to help ease the financial pressure on the family during this difficult time, and to give Nathan something really special to look forward to when he’s feeling stronger. He’s a die-hard Celtic fan, so we’d love to make one of his dreams come true. 💚
