As many of you know, I was born in Sumy, Ukraine, and have lived in Scotland for the last 15 years. Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine started in February 2022, many of you helped me raise funds to support the most vulnerable people of the Sumy region - families with children, elderly with no relatives, and those with disabled family members.

Now Sumy is back in the spotlight as there may be another invasion in the area - it looks like troops are being accumulated at the other side of the border and Sumy border control units stop attackers trying to break through every day and night.

A half of missile launches happen just across the border with Sumy region, and Sumy air defence forces are the first to try and hit those missiles. The better the do, the less missiles will get deeper in the country.

This campaign is to raise funds to help the Sumy air defence and border control forces with 4x4 cars, portable power generators and medical supplies. Cars don't last long in the woods of the frontline but solid 4x4 can save a lot of lives even if used for just a few months. And a pickup can help air defence units to move ammunition and are great for a quick escape.

The plan is to source/buy cars in the UK and drive them all the way to Sumy (over 2,100 miles!). Volunteers would drive the cars but the cost of power generators and medical supplies as well as taxes, insurance, fuel, accommodation, food and return tickets to the UK need to be covered.

You can massively help in several ways:

- donate as much money as you can here (it costs about £1,000 to transport each vehicle and a power generator that would serve a small unit costs about £300)

- share the link to this campaign with anyone you can and ask them to help. I'm not on Facebook but heard a few people are using it (!) - please share there too if you can!

- donate cars (ideally with at least a short MOT and solid enough to survive a few months in the woods)

No donation is too small - donate the cost of your morning coffee and pastry and help saving lives!
