I've raised £4000 to the loving memory of all-round brilliant human being, Dave Laws.

In loving memory of David Laws, who died suddenly but peacefully on 6th October 2020. A cherished husband and father, he dedicated his life to his work as an ophthalmic surgeon. Though his work carried him across the globe, he was driven to make Wales the best it can be. He was a keen windsurfer, cyclist, kayaker, sea swimmer, runner, sailor and loved nothing more than pursuing these passions on Gower. A proud honorary Welshman.
In lieu of flowers, we'd like to use his memory to aid conservation efforts on Gower in a way he'd approve of.
Dave chose to live on Gower, it was a joy for him to walk on the beaches and dunes. For him, there was no better view in the world than cycling through the marshes into Oxwich. The money we raise in his memory will be used for environmental improvement in the Oxwich area. An area that meant so much to him. We’ve put a nominal amount on the page, but we will adjust our ambitions to suit the funds. It could be a bird hide for visitors, habitat creation projects, or educational facilities to spread the word about local wildlife. We are working alongside local conservation organisations to ensure we work with sensitivity towards the environment and community.
Update: Thank you to everybody for your generosity. We have been completely overwhelmed by the response this page has had.
