I've raised £7500 to Help support Casey who was involved in a car accident on the 27th November at 7pm.

On the 27th of November my sister received a phone call and was informed that her daughter (Casey) had been involved in a car accident, this quickly filtered through the family and at the time none of us knew just how bad it was. Casey was clipped by one vehicle and knocked under a second vehicle whilst crossing the road which has left her in a critical condition. That night has changed so many lives...
The drivers involved were not to blame and this was just a tragic accident. These things happen but you never expect it to be your family.
Since that night Casey has been in intensive care with a list of injuries including a broken femur, broken pelvis, broken ribs, punctured lungs and more significantly damage to her spine. She also has a slice on her liver, broken coccyx, dislocated collar bone and staples in her head to close an 8 cm cut she sustained. She has already undergone surgery twice with a further operation to work on her femur, pelvis and coccyx planned for 04/12. At the moment she has an infection and is having trouble breathing and so has been sedated.
Prior to the accident Casey was happy, full of life and enjoying time with friends and family. Only 4 months ago Casey was at her Mums wedding where they were all looking forward to the future as a family. She is a loving, caring and funny young lady.
The amount of love and support received up to now can not be measured and it is all testament to Casey and the wonderful person she is.
So why a just giving page?
Casey at the moment is been cared for by the wonderful professionals in Leeds who have done everything in their power to make her comfortable and heal the broken. She is going to need a lot of after care, physio therapy and we are already planning for adaptations to her home to support her and her family when she finally gets to go home. All monies raised will go directly to her and her parents to ease the pressure on them whilst they care for Casey and her rehabilitation. Plans so far are to get Casey a medical bed for home and make changes to the bathroom. As this only happened this week, it's difficult to say what will need to changed/adapted.
The true cost will not be known for sometime and if you don't want to donate then please feel free to add a message of support.
We would like to say thank you to all our family, friends and the strangers that have sent messages of support and love to my daughter in this difficult time in her short life. She is fighting hard like the girl we have raised her to be. She has touched so many hearts in the 14 years she has been with us and i'm more than sure she will touch many more to come. Thank you.
