Story

Hi I am Cassie I am now 29 my life changed a year ago when I got rushed into hospital with severe bleading. From that day the doctors found out I had two 6cm poylips attached to my cervix. From that I had to have an operation to have them removed. I thought all the way i was going to be fine BUT then my life was turned upside down and back again. I was told I have the dreaded C word cancer. I thought my life was over but I was ready to give it a good fight. It was one of the rarest cancers a rare cancer called sarcoma, but mine was a rare version of sarcoma called andersarcoma cancer a very aggressive type. The decision was made that I would have to have a hysterectomy. This news was heart breaking as I am not a mum yet and me and my partner Matt have been trying for a baby for a year. We went through the process of having my eggs removed before I had the operation in case any damage was done to my ovaries whilst I had my womb removed. My eggs were combined with my partner Matt's sperm and managed to create 2 embryo' s, they are now frozen ready for when we are able to use them to create our children. I had my womb removed and since then I have had clear scans for nearly a year now. This has come at a cost though as I am unable to carry my own children. This is heart breaking but I need to concentrate on the fact that i can still have my own children but will have to use a surrogate to carry them for me. This of course comes at a cost which is not funded by the nhs and unfortunately it would take us years to save to be able to afford to carry out the procedure, of course if that is what we have to do then we will but we was advised about this brilliant site and hopefully this works for us, the appreciation for any donations no matter how small would be indescribable and will help me fulfil my dream of becoming a mum. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and if there are any updatupdates at all they will be posted on here. Thanks again.
