Story
The 1st Castle Cary Scout Group are trying to get funding to refurbish their Scout Halls. Both Halls have very poor insulation and are in dire need of modernisation. We also wish to enable our Halls and facilities within to be fully accessible to all.
The work needed to complete the refurbishment work has been quoted at £78,737.00. We have applied to Virador Credits to see if they would cover the majority of this cost. As part of Virador Credits requirements they require us to find funding for 10% of the monies we are asking them for. This 10% has to be used as the ‘Contributing Third Party’ (CTP). All money collected towards the CTP has to be held by Virador Credits in a secure account, and used for the first 10% of invoiced bills for the Scout Hall refurbishment. Failure to raise the full CTP will result in them refusing to release any funding at all. We would also not be able to reapply to them for funding.
As a group we have been busy fund raising towards this project for a period of time, and we thought we could use these funds already raised to use towards the CTP. This is not so, under the rules that Virador have to work to we have to raise money specifically for the CTP. What we are able to do is use £6,000 of our existing funds to reduce the amount of Viridor Credits needed. This would also reduce the CTP payment required. £78,737.00 - £6,000.00 equates to £72,737.00 which means we have to find a 10% CTP of £7,273.00.
