Story
Hi there,
I'm Sergeant Bradley Bowden, currently serving in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers with 5 Bn REME, 2 Field Company. In the last few years i have noticed more and more soldiers utilising our Corps charity, this is including myself. Times are hard and to have a charity that helps those in need is incredible, the Corps charity not only helps those serving but also those who have served and are part of the REME family.
I have personally used the charity twice in the last 2 years, the 1st time was when my father passed away, the charity helped to ease the financial burden in an extremely testing time. The 2nd time was the charity helping me during a mental health issue, I had been diagnosed with PTSD over multiple events, there are long waiting times to see specialists within the forces and the charity helped me to speak with an outside specialist sooner to allow me to start getting better.
My aim is to raise £1942, this number is specific as is it the year the REME were formed. The event will be on the 30th May 2024 and will be 2 teams of 10 people, performing a continuous tyre flip for 10km!! It isn't just any old tyre, it will be one of the Army's Recovery support vehicle tyres weighing in at 150kg and a height of 1.6m.
This will be no easy task, so please give whatever you can to allow others the help that they need.
