Story

I will be climbing Ben A'an in the Spring to raise money towards the BA Primary Education Year 3 trip to Malawi in May, where I and 10 others will be teaching and learning in Makokezi Primary School in Blantyre, Malawi. Here we will be able to learn about TALULAR (Teaching And Learning Using Locally Available Resources - such as stones and bottle caps) and implement it in the classroom to help support the students there. Furthermore we will also be able to share resources and sustainable active learning strategies with the class teachers, many of whom are unqualified. I am a 3rd Year Primary Education Student at Strathclyde University. The Malawi trip is going to be an amazing opportunity to not only expand my own professional knowledge, but also help to support the Makokezi School, students, teachers, and surrounding community.
