Story
Cat is really excited to be have been selected by Scouts Cymru to be a part of the UK contingent for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
Jointly hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts of Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico, the Jamboree will take place from the 22nd July to the 2nd August 2019 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.
Cat, will be working with the rest of the contingent to raise over £3,550 each over the next 18 months. The fee will contribute to her attendance at the event but also contributes to Scouts from other less fortunate countries allowing them to attend and supporting the aim of the Jamboree to ‘Unlock a New World’.
She is currently planning fundraising activities to include bag packing, cake sales, non-school uniform day, curry and quiz nights, car washing and hopefully a lot more! Cat is also going to be working with her Unit to help raise funds for the whole contingent. The aim is for the Unit to work together and raise funds as a group as well as individually.
The World Scout Jamboree is a unique, international adventure shaped by young people. By attending as part of the UK contingent, Cat will be able to have a positive impact not only on Scouting but also the local community.
If you are inspired by the potential of the World Scout Jamboree to enhance and develop the skills of the next generation, we invite you to contribute to her fundraising by making a donation.
