    Story

I'm currently volunteering at a place called Cat Beach Penang in Malaysia. This is a true no kill sanctuary for the cats on Penang island - a last resort and a home. There are over 200 cats here from a variety of backgrounds, all sorts of breeds, colours, ages & temperaments etc. They all have a personality and they all need a home.
The sanctuary takes as much care of the animals as they can but they only have a limited budget and so many cats are so poorly that nature does happen and many (especially kittens) do die.

I am a firm believer that the most effective way to control the cat population and improve the quality of life for the cats is to neuter them. All animals charities are advocates of the message and there are many well established charities that run successful neutering programs of both stray cats and provide funding for people who cannot afford to for their cats.

Now unfortunately Cat Beach is still in a starting phase of becoming a self-sufficient does not presently have the funds to neuter all of the animals here and only a few of the 200+ here have been neutered.

There is so much suffering and I would love to be able to prevent some of it happening in the first place and help the cats to live healthier happier lives.

I have decided to return to Cat Beach and stay long term to set up a sterilisation program and am going to spend lots of time fundraising in order to do this! I also want to start a big re-homing campaign whilst I am here to find these gorgeous kitties homes!

So I am asking my family and friends; family and friends of my family and friends and any generous people who see this page to help towards this ambitious task. The cost of neutering a female cat in Malaysia is approximately £40/$45/200MYR and a male cat is £30/$35/150MYR.

Any donations will be appreciated so so much.
Those of you who have donated already - thank you so much. I'm looking forward to taking kitties to the vets soon and will be posting updates
