Story

in 2009 I lost a lot of my hair through illness. I was an adult and it was the least of my problems at the time. These days I volunteer at Bright Opportunities running art and craft sessions for adults with special needs. One of the attendees is a childhood survivor of cancer. It robbed her of her eyesight and hearing. We have often spoken about the effects of hair loss through illness and the additional trauma it can cause, especially to a little girl. Her parents had to pay a great deal of money for a wig for her to save her dignity. I haven't cut my hair since 2009 and when I heard that it was possible to donate hair to enable parents to obtain a wig for their sick child for free, well it was an easy decision to make.

On 11th October, I will be having my long plait cut off! I am hoping to raise £350 because that is how much it costs to have the wig made up. If anyone can contribute anything, I will be very grateful.
