Story

On Sunday 28th March 2021, Lucy was on her way to work, riding her much loved motorbike along Magnolia Drive, Colchester when she was hit by a car. The car failed to stop and left Lucy laying in the road with life changing injuries.

Lucy is known by many people and always goes out of her way to help anyone in need, throughout lockdown she has continuously volunteered for Essex Corona Virus Action Group, supporting people with food deliveries and medicines using her motorbike.

Following the accident, Lucy was flown to Addenbrookes, where she remains in hospital and undergoing surgery for the injuries she suffered. Lucy has terrible damage to her foot and leg that will require multiple operations and faces a very long recovery with the possibility of never walking properly again.

Not only did the driver fail to stop, the driver was not insured! This will leave Lucy struggling to support herself financially (rent, bills, food, travel expenses etc) along with the emotional scaring of the accident.

I have known Lucy and her family for many years, she has always put everyone before herself and now is the time I feel she needs our support. I have opened this page in hope we can raise some money to help Lucy with her recovery and medical expenses.

I would really appreciate, and I am sure Lucy would too, any donations possible.

Many thanks

Catherine
