I am fundraising to raise money to pay for the travel and board of 8 Ugandan students to take part in the JIYM (Jinja International Youth Meeting). They will join 8 students and 2 staff from Huxlow Science College. We have to raise 11,200 in total. With this personal challenge I would like to raise enough money to pay for 4 Ugandan delegates to join us. This conference has been held at the Discovery Centre since 2007, drawing staff and sixth-form students from both the U.K. and Uganda. Currently there are three conferences held each year. Topics such as globalisation, equality and social justice are discussed. As well as the formal times, there are lots of opportunities for the students to interact, have fun and visit local places of interest. It is a very rich experience for all concerned and many delegates, both Ugandan and Uk, say it is one of the best experiences they have ever had.
