Stones for Stones

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be 60 in September and milestone birthdays mean I do something to raise money and I ask for no presents - this year I will be literally reaching new heights.

I have signed up to hike the stones of the Peru Inca Trail in October which concludes with once in a lifetime trip around Machu Picchu.

It will not be easy - but it will offer breath-taking sights and photographic opportunities and it provides a way of raising money.

I am covering all the costs of the trek so - all the money donated on and offline will go to the good cause.

I have been a member of Bacup Pride for many years and support their work by regularly litter picking and looking after my neighbourhood.

When we started to uncover the gravestones, which were hidden by grass, brambles and trees, it became a bit of an obsession with lots of the volunteers. Some date back to 1700.

An ecology project is planned which will preserve the area and make it accessible for people to be able to visit for years to come.

Thank you for reading this and I hope, if you can, you will support my plans.

Bacup Pride is a constituted community organisation which looks after the Lancashire town of Bacup.

Litter picking is one of just many activities undertaken by the organisation and last year the amazing floral displays, home grown flowers and community investment all around the town won Gold at the Britain In Bloom North West awards.

I am proud to be a member.
