Story

We are trying to raise money to help support Jessica Schopf and her animal shelter, Catitos in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Catitos rescue mainly cats, but also dogs and occasionally any other animal in need of help. Jessica looks after the animals in her own house, providing food, health care and fostering them until they can be rehomed. She also co-ordinates with local people and authorities to trap, neuter and release feral animals as well as providing medicine and advice to locals who are unable to afford it.

The shelter has been running since 2018 has rehomed over 1338 cats and dogs as well as helping countless other animals in need and supporting other local animal shelters. Just last night she received 6 new puppies and the mother.

While we are volunteering here for several weeks, we would love to be able to help raise some money to provide future animals with the care they desperately need. Local people are often not educated or against castrating cats and dogs and so there is constant stream of new babies as well as animals that are hurt on the streets or mistreated. Catitos survives solely on donations without any help from local authorities.

Check out her Instagram here or Facebook here.
