I've raised £1000 to help to neuter the many street cats in Kalamata on mainland Greece.

Many people are aware of the huge challenge Greece faces with its ever increasing numbers of stray and abandoned cats. The streets of Kalamata are no different. Every year more and more kittens are born and the majority don’t make it beyond a few weeks while the mothers get weaker and sick. These cats urgently need our help to prevent the endless circle of hardship and suffering.
A female cat can have 1-8 kittens per litter and 2-3 litters per year. During her productive life, this cat could have more than 100 kittens! Neutering is the most effective way to reduce the numbers of stray cats.
By raising money to sterilise as many of the cats as possible we can help to prevent the death of so many sick kittens and help the female cats to have safer and healthier lives.
If you can help in any way possible it would be very much appreciated. Any donation, however small, will go a long way to making the lives of these Greek cats more bearable.
