I've raised £1200 to turn a children's hospital ward in Songea, Tanzania, into a friendly and relaxed environment.

On Sunday the 15th July a sponsored walk is taking place at Catton Grove Primary School. The aim is to collectively walk 500 miles over the course of the day. The funds raised will go towards a fantastic cause, to decorate a children's hospital in Tanzania. The following is a description of the project organised by the Nathan Mpangala Foundation:
Among our objectives is to enable children/youth to learn through art and engage within communities through practicing art therapy. I would like to tell you that we are conducting a charitable activity in August this year under our program called Wafanya Watabasamu, “Make Them Smile,” which intends to turn the children’s ward at the Ruvuma Referral Hospital in Songea District, Ruvuma Region, (driving distance from Dar es Salaam to Songea is 1054 kilometers), into a friendly, relaxed, stimulated and less intimidating environment through wall paintings.
The building has five rooms with no single painting on its walls. Six artists (both from Dar es Salaam) are interested to offer their expertise to decorate the building in the hope that we can uplift the community morale.
