About our CATW cafe.

CATW Cafe is a not for profit cat cafe in the town of Whitchurch Shropshire. The cafe is completely run by volunteers who give up their spare to time to care for the cats and serve visitors. The cafe houses rescue cats some of which live there some of which are available for adoption. All money raised from the cafe go directly back into the main rescue Cat Assist Team Whitchurch. The cafe is also the base to our pet food bank that ensures people of any means have access to animal food when they find them selves in a time of need. The team worked tirelessly over 11 months to get the cafe up and running and the license passed by the council. Unfortunately after opening the team noticed wet damp patches appearing in the property. The front flooring started to crack (which turned out to be a problem with the base of the property) and also suffered 3 floods at the back of the property causing soaked flooring. For welfare and customer concerns the cafe was immediately closed. Unfortunately the work was classed as structural and the rescue could not afford these repairs nor were they liable for them. Due to no effort made to repair the building and the loss the rescue were taking the decision was made to search for a new property. The good news is we have found a suitable property, but like all buildings cosmetic work is needed and also building work to ensure we meet all standards of welfare, hygeine and health and safety for the cafe. The animal license is none transferable, meaning the rescue have to apply and pay for the license AGAIN. The team are devastated and now have the extra worry of not only raising funds for the sick cats in care but also to afford to move the cafe to get it back open and running asap. Please even if you can donate as little as 50p the rescue would be really appreciative at this urgent time of need
