Story

Ashgate Hospicecare is an independent charity (no. 700636) that provides care to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire. Our specialist teams support thousands of patients every year in their own homes. We have a Day Hospice for up to 16 patients per day, four days a week, a 21 bed Inpatient Unit providing 24/7 care and a range of therapy and support services on site.

We believe no-one in North Derbyshire should face the prospect of dying alone. Help us to provide more nurses for
our community.

In the past 12 months our nurses have helped over 2,000 patients and families deal with the emotional and physical pain of dying as the result of a terminal illness.
If you had the chance, would you help make your family or friends last dying days as good as you could?
That’s what our nurses do every day.
Your money will directly result in more people getting the Ashgate Nurses’ care at home and in the hospice.

At some point in our life, we all need a little help and advice. When problems show up, it’s relatively rare they come in `one neat package`. Life changes such as the onset of disability or bereavement can have a profound impact on our lives and those of our family. Accessing advice at the right time is essential and that’s where we come in.

Citizens Advice Chesterfield is a local Charity and for many people is the first point of call. We offer free, confidential, impartial, independent advice and information for the problems they face and improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

Citizens Advice Chesterfield helps around 6,000 local residents with 20,000 problems every year; reaching one in seven of the total population. The service helps secure £5.7 million of financial gains for residents per year, £5million debt managed. Eight out of 10 people say advice has improved their health and wellbeing.
