The ANCHOR Unit (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy) is a collective of specialised wards and clinics within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. It is the central hub of cancer and haematology care for the north of Scotland.
Uniquely, every penny of every pound donated to Friends of ANCHOR goes to the cause because our administration costs, including the salaries of the six fundraising team members, are fully covered by Aberdeen company Balmoral Group - as they have been since the charity was founded.
SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support):
A UK-based charity supporting families who have experienced the loss of a baby through stillbirth, miscarriage, or neonatal death
Provides emotional support, counseling, and practical help to bereaved parents
Offers a range of services, including a helpline, online support groups, and local support groups
Works to raise awareness of baby loss and improve care for bereaved families
Both charities aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for families to grieve and heal after the loss of a baby.
