Story

The Science Department of Christ's College Finchley are taking part in a 10k run on Sunday 23rd June in Trent Park. We are asking you to sponsor us in the hope that we can raise some vital funds for the school in order to buy some much needed science equipment.

Christ’s College Finchley is a comprehensive school in North London. There is a diverse range of students at the school and a high proportion of pupils come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Science is very popular at CCF, we are proud of our strong record of achievement at both GCSE and A Level. A large proportion of students who stay on into our 6th form choose to do science subjects. They choose to do these out of a love of science that has been instilled in them by their lower school experiences and often because they want to go into careers in medicine, dentistry, engineering and other related fields.

School budgets have faced real term cuts in recent years, meaning it is difficult for schools to maintain or replace science equipment. We are taking part in this run because we want to ensure that our students continue to receive a first class education, on a par with any other school in the country. If you donate to our cause, the money you pledge will go into enhancing and improving the science education of all of our students here at CCF and making a real difference to their life chances and the careers they hope to progress into.
