Story

In June/July 2019, I will be travelling 10,032 miles, a 32 - 48 hour flight to Fiji to take part in a volunteering program with Think Pacific, who are in partnership with the Fijian Ministries of Education, Youth, Sports and Health.

Most people see beaches and palm trees when they think about Fiji but they are totally oblivious to the problems the country faces on a regular basis.

- 75% of children in Fiji live below the poverty line

-Only 50% of children in Fiji have access to adequate sanitation and fresh water

- Just 5% of children in Fiji get an early years education.

Whilst in Fiji, I will help not only the children with their literacy and studies but I will also aid the construction of schools and sanitation facilities and initiating sports development for the island's children. I am volunteering for Think Pacific because beyond the palm trees, many children are faced with problems that none of us will probably ever face in our life times. I want to experience what life is like without electricity and hot water and privileges I've had my whole life.

My Fundraising Target

-I am aiming to fundraise £1300. The money I am aiming to fundraise goes directly to the ThinkPacific Foundation and your donations will be used to fund the vital building materials, sports equipment and educational materials.

-I will be funding my own flights and travel to get to Fiji thus your contribution goes directly to the charity.

-All of the project initiatives have been 100% funded by Think Pacific volunteers.

As well as creating a JustGiving page, I will be coming up with multiple fund raising events closer to December. I know fundraising takes time and patience which is way I opened up this page so early.

Thank you for anyone who's taken the time to read my story and I am extremely grateful to anyone who has donated xx
