My volunteer Borneo expedition will offer me the unique chance to live and work as part of the community, helping local people and their children improve their living standards in a sustainable way and supporting various conservation efforts to safeguard the future of some of the world’s rarest and most impressive wildlife, including orangutans.
The tasks i will be undertaking will include; seed collection ; tree planting; wildlife monitoring along the Kinabatangan river; digging classroom foundations; laying bricks ; plastering; painting and decorating buildings; making classroom furniture ; creating a play area & landscaping; installing water storage tanks & associated piping.
