Story

In memory of PC John Fabrizi, a beloved member of the policing family on Central North who tragically lost his life fighting COVID19.

John was held in high regard by so many and we would like to help his family in any way we can to support them through this difficult time.

PC Fabrizi joined the Metropolitan Police Service on 11.03.2010 as a PCSO, initially serving in Southall before moving to Camden. PC Fabrizi then joined the MPS as a Constable on 29.03.2012, being posted to Camden and Team 5 (ERPT-E) as PC 296EK, based at Kentish Town Police Station. In 2015 PC Fabrizi moved to Team 4 (ERPT-D). After the merger with Islington PC Fabrizi became 1296CN continued on response team before transferring to what was the Late Night Levy (LNL) Team in December 2018. In 2020 the Late Night Levy Team became the Neighbourhoods Task Force (NTF) and PC Fabrizi continued to serve with them.

In December 2020 John became unwell, but wasn’t aware that it was COVID-19 or how sick he was until he collapsed at home and was found by his daughter. John’s daughter called the LAS, who transferred him to Barnet General Hospital, where he was hospitalised. Within a couple of days John’s health had deteriorated and he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, where after some treatment his health initially improved. After about a week John’s health deteriorated to such a degree that he was sedated and placed on a ventilator to assist his breathing. John continued to fight against the COVID-19 virus and despite the very best efforts of the clinicians, after 4 weeks in hospital John succumbed to the rigors of the COVID-19 virus and died.

Our thoughts are with John's wife Rowena, son Francis and daughter Caroline.
