Heather Cooper was a good friend of mine whilst at Bishop Burton College. In October 2011 she was murdered and buried in a shallow grave near her home by her partner. She was on maternity leave at the time and left behind a newborn daughter and a young son. Her partner subsequently commited suicide whilst awaiting trial.
I wanted to run my first half marathon in Heather's memory and raise money before Christmas to go towards her children's trust fund or to be used to take them on a Christmas trip as a treat!
Heather and I parted on bad terms shortly after college and I never got the chance to apologise to her so this is my chance to do something for her!
