Story

I have set myself a challenge of taking part in Fight Night, a White Collar Boxing Event in Cardiff. For those of you who know me, you’ll understand how big of a challenge this is likely to be! I have chosen something completely out of my comfort zone in order to test myself, and more importantly raise money for the worthy cause detailed below.

For one hour every Saturday children and adults who cannot access mainstream rugby for whatever reason are given the opportunity to play rugby. We have rugby related activities, exercises and a game of tag rugby during the session that gives opportunity for individuals to be part of a team.

This group of players were given the task of deciding a name for the section of the club - NHSOB, and so The Specials were born! We lose a lot of sessions to the weather and not all of our players understand this so a few seasons ago we took it indoors for the worst of the winter. We have the intention of continuing with this, but our funds have run out. You can see from our cool kit that we have an identity that fits in with the wider club. We give a jersey to players once they have attended four sessions.

There are more worthy causes than this one but I know we are making a difference to parents and more importantly players lives. Anything you could give will be appreciated.
