Story
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. An average house hold has 4 people. That means a family member is likely to suffer from a mental illness this year.
Mental health is not addressed enough in the UK. Mental health needs to have the same focus on it as physical health, because if your mental health is not taken care of it starts affecting your physical health. People don't know much about mental health, don't realise when they are suffering and I want to change that. I suffer from anxiety, depression and insomnia. When I first asked for help I was classes as a high suicide risk and I was put on a 8-12 waiting list to be seen by a psychologist. 8 to 12 weeks. Think about how long that is for someone who has been classed as a 'high suicide risk'. These waiting times are unacceptable, but it's what this country has to deal with because not enough people are talking about mental health.
Please help me to raise awareness and help fund me to make a difference to people suffering from a mental illness. Help someone who is struggling to carry on every day
