I've raised £2260 to help purchase a new powered wheelchair for our son Ruben.

So who is Ruben?... Ru is our youngest son. He was born with bilateral talipes (more commonly know as clubfoot) and has had a lot of correctional treatment for this over the years. He also has Stickler Syndrome, which is a collagen deficiency that affects the connective tissue in the joints, eyes, ears and sometimes the heart. It causes early arthritis, hypermobility and fatigue. Ru has had cryotherapy to reduce the chances of spontaneous retinal detachments. With these two conditions Ru has limited mobility and core stength which means he gets fatigued very easily, along with aches in his feet, ankle and knee joints if he is on his feet too long. His last e-motion chair has been a huge help to him over the last 3 years, particularly in high school and when out covering long distances. It offers him safety and rest enabling him to manage his energy levels effectively. However, all children grow bigger and Ru is now 14 and nearly 6 foot tall! He is now too big for his current chair and finds it uncomfortable to use for periods of time.
This money would help significantly tomwards us being able to purchase Ru a new lightweight Xenon wheelchair with new e-motion powered wheels which provide battery powered wheels that he can propel with the lightest touch.
These things aren't cheap however so we are looking to you to help us raise money to get Ru the new chair he needs to enable him to get the most out of life.
Thanks for reading our story and for anything you are able to donate.
Much love Gaz, Ali (dad and mum) and Ruben.
