Story

Hello everyone, my name is Regina,

Before I ask for your help, let me explain a little about myself and what it is I need to do.

In the mid 90’s I became very unwell due to mental health issues. At the time I was diagnosed with chronic depression but after no improvement with my condition on medication and further intervention, I was admitted to hospital. After several weeks in hospital I was diagnosed with bi polar, EUPD, eating disorders, server anxiety and many other things along the way. I went through 20 years of medication, counselling and other forms of therapies available in mainstream services. While they helped a little nothing seemed to be able to get me to a place were I could function better daily. After many years of struggles and no real success in managing my condition - I decided to look into other ways to help myself and gain some kind of balance in my life, without having to add additional medication to the already long list.

In late 2017 I began meditating and learning about the chakra energy system and through this I began to find a tiny flicker of peace and balance. As I meditated more regularity, my mind began to quieten, which was something I had not experienced in many years, if ever at all. I began to notice things change within myself, from the inside out. It was like the silence of meditating allowed me to hear what I needed to do to maintain a semblance of well-being and balance.

The meditating began to organically cause changes to my life. I felt a need for me to become healthier. I stopped smoking and from there I became vegetarian, gave up caffeine, sugar, bread and eventually became vegan. Then I began to eat just vegetables and raw food wherever possible. The raw food enhanced my meditation experience. I began to notice a marked improvement on mental and psychical health. I have always been a passionate, creative and inventive cook and the changes to my diet allowed me to explore new ways of cooking and getting the best from food.

I found learning about the chakras system pointed me in many healthy direction and I became interested in eating food to aid in balancing the chakras - hence the name Chakra Shots. I began to cook with this ethos.

Chakra Shots -  Eating for Balance

As I grew in confidence again and with the endless help of my wonderful support worker Joanna and Manager at MIND in Tower Hamlets - I set up a healthy eating group, it is based around food information, cooking & demonstration tasting sessions. The group has been running for 9 months now! It has enabled me to fall in love with cooking and healthy eating all over again. I found purpose and a way to give back. I now wish to take this healthy information group online - I want to make the sessions available to MIND client and other that cannot attend the centre in person for whatever reason.

I want to help people like myself have the best chance of well being through healthy eating. To do this I need your help!!! I need £2000 or donation of the following new items, Laptop, Kitchen Equipment, Video Camera, plus 1 years running cost please.

I am trying to raise £2000

Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this request
