Weʼre raising £1,500 to help drive Emergency & Rescue vehicles from Scotland to Gambia as part of Challenge 4000
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My son, Finlay and myself are taking part in Challenge 4000. Starting on December 16th 2019. We are part of a 15 person team driving from Inveraray, Scotland to Banjul, The Gambia. Covering over 4000 miles and will take us approximately 20 days. We have actively helped in all fundraising events to buy the necessary emergency vehicles, that we will be driving over to donate to various projects and rescue services. We will be taking 5 vehicles on the journey. A Road Rescue unit, to be donated to The Gambian Fire & Rescue Service, an ambulance, to be donated to Bwiam Hospital, 2 ex ambulances, to be used as mobile clinics for rural areas, with little or no access to medical care
and a 4x4 to be donated to The Gambian Fire & Sea Rescue Unit, to assist with saving life in and around the coastal waters. We now need to try and help raise funds to actually get the vehicles there. Each vehicle will cost £1500, each team member must also donate and raise £500 to cover their personal costs to take part, so we have less than a year to try and raise enough funds for it all to happen! I would really appreciate any help at all in helping get the final finances in place for this huge project to happen. What an adventure for Finlay, 13 years old, to take part in. What a challenge for me to make this huge dream of mine, to drive from Scotland to Africa, a reality. While also helping others save life and assisting with medical and emergency support to people who hugely rely on humanitarian aid. Please, anything from £1.00 upwards will help. Thank you for reading and hopefully contributing. Fiona
