    Story

In January 2018, George said he wanted to make some books for the children who are in Treliske. After some discussion, this evolved to become a programme of challenges for George as a means to raise funds for a number of charities that are important to him:

MS Society - George's Gran, Christie Drakeley, died in January 2018 and she had Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years. We want to raise funds in her memory.

RNLI - We live by and play on the water and who knows when we will need their support. We want to raise funds to ensure we can be rescued when we need it!

Leukemia Research - A very good surfing friend of ours died from Leukemia and George wants to raise funds in his memory.

Penryn RFC - George is part of Penryn RFC and wants to raise funds to support the team to buy more kit for the mini's.

Treliske Children's Ward - G wants to raise funds to buy Christmas presents for the children who are in hospital over Christmas 2018.

George is going to undertake a number of challenges to raise funds:

January 2018: Trampolining - Basketball position bounces. He's aiming for 150 bounces!

February: Create a short film about the geography of Iceland. We'll upload it here.

March: Beach clean on at least 3 Cornish beaches.

April: 2 challenges this month - 1. Bake a lemon drizzle cake for a school bake sale and 2. Driving challenge. George hopes to take on world land speed record holder, Andy Green....

May: Learn to surf on the flowrider.

June: Cycling challenge - check and maintain his bike and ride at least 10miles (with us).

July: 30 days, 30 pieces of Lego, 30 makes....

August: Cross Creek Swim. G is going to swim across Mylor Creek from the Quay to the slipway and back again. In all likelihood, he'll be accompanied by Tor the Labrador!

September: Pretty Muddy Kids - taking on a muddy obstacle course to raise funds for Cancer Research. If we reach our fundraising target, both Adrian and I will take on the adult one too....

October: Rugby Passing Challenge. Together with this team mates, and hopefully all the minis, colts, seniors, take on a passing challenge around the main pitch. There will be physical challenge penalties for dropping the ball!!

November: Ice Hockey Challenge. With some of the players from MK Lightning, George will attempt to score as many goals as possible on the ice!

December: Another 2 challenges this month - 1. writing a short story or poem(s) on a theme of George's choice and 2. Dog training challenge - G will work with Tor to improve Tor's skills at the shoot.

Everyone is welcome to join George in taking on these challenges - just let us know if you want to get involved too!
