I've raised £250 to host a Christmas Day for Highland’s Care-Experienced Young People

Christmas can be a difficult time for Care-Experienced Young People in the Highlands, with many facing isolation from their families & friends. Some young people in residential units face a Christmas in care with one member of staff whilst their peers experience dinner & gifts with their loved ones. A young Highlander with this experience worked so that this would not have to be the only option for young people again - and so The Highland Champs youth club along with support from organisations such as The Calman Trust and Highland Council are making this dream a reality and hosting the FIRST EVER Christmas for Care Experienced Young People in the Highlands! I will be volunteering with others on this day and providing dinner, music, gifts and a sense of belonging at The Highland Rugby Club, 1-6pm.
The more money raised, the bigger our event can be and we can reach out to more young people from remote and rural areas. Fundraising will help provide an amazing meal, presents and entertainment on the day as well as opening travel options for young people ❤️ Any additional funding will go towards next year's event, future Highland Champs activities & supporting the Who Cares? Scotland Christmas Event in Glasgow.
