Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I don’t want to give a sob story, but as the story is the reason I am here, please bear with me.
My wife left me last year and took my two children with her. She moved in with my brother in law who was so insecure that he threatened me to stay away from “her and her kids” but I couldn't possible comment on why he did that!
So I decided that I needed a new start. I was offered a job in Ghana as a professional football manager (every young boys dream). Had a successful time there. When the season ended, I came home to visit my kids and my daughter made me promise that I wouldn’t go back. So I came back to England, homeless and my only possession was my car.
I scraped along worh temp xmas jobs for a while, sleeping in my car, my lowest point spending Christmas Eve sleeping in the back of my car. It was also the first time I hadn’t spent Christmas morning with my children.
For Christmas, I was given a copy of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and I quickly noticed that in my past, I had already been doing everything that she suggested. I look back at my life, I had always wanted to own a business, when I focused on achieving that goal, I succeeded and it grew it to be the biggest of its type on the North of England!
When I wanted to be involved in football, I became a manager of a team in the UK Women’s Premier League. When I wanted to be a success in the men’s game, I was headhunted for a role in the Men’s Ghanaian Premier League. When I wanted kids, I had the two must beautiful children that you could ever meet. I wanted to go to university, I attained a 1st class degree.
Fast forward to the new year. I read the book from cover to cover and I focussed on getting a roof over my head. I managed to find somewhere to call home. I focused on finding a job that I’d enjoy, now I’ve succeeded in that.
Please excuse the mess, I don't have much:
My living room
My daughters room (I designed the wall)
My sons room (yes, I have to share a room with him and designed the wall)
I live in a 2 bed flat, I don’t have curtains or even carpets or wooden floors. I have to wear slippers because it’s a concrete floor. I save whatever I can, but it’s only £20/£50 a month. At this rate, it would take too long for me to pay for this course. So this is me, throwing myself at the mercy of your generosity. Please help me raise enough money for me to go on this course.
Now its today, I need to find financial freedom. I don't want to ever be in a position ever again like I am now where I am worrying about my next paycheque. And I want to be in a place where I know my kids will never have to worry about money. I have a mentor who’s been helping me (for free) and he’s invited me down to a training course that he runs, I know that this will change my life forever. I’ll be able to finally stop worrying about money. It isn't a get rich quick scheme. It's a training course that will give me a profession. But I need your help. The course starts 1st week of September.
I promise that if I raise enough, then once I am qualified, I will pay this generosity forward. My kids mean the world to me and this is why I am doing this. I have started seeing them again, but only without his knowledge, but at least the kids are happy.
Thank you so much for your kindness, I cannot stress just how grateful I am
My and my kids whilst homeless. :(
