Story
Hi everyone, myself and 2 friends will be climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales on 13th July 2019. I will be raising money for 2 charities close to my heart. I have never climbed a mountain before and since having my 2 lovely children i have struggled with my weight so i am hoping this will be a good incentive to also gain control of that again.
In Nov 2015 I lost my Nan to End Stage Renal Failure. She had lived with kidney failure nearly all her life and spent most of her time on kidney dialysis. The Northamptonshire Kidney Patients Association helped and supported my Nan when she needed them the most and for that I am forever grateful. They continue to support all ages in so many different way who suffer with kidney conditions therefore I would like to raise money for them in memory of my Nan.
Secondly, I would like to help a little boy named Archie Kambanis and his family. Archie is 7 years old and has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2. A couple years ago Archie had to undergo some operations due to his old wheelchair not supporting his body the way it should. He was told he needed a bigger chair which could help him be more independent and also more comfortable so the family started raising the £26,000 for his new chair. The day had finally came when they had raised the amount and the chair arrived. Well this is when it all went wrong.
The company had not only supplied a faulty/dangerous chair to Archie but several children also faced the same problems. When a return and refund was requested they told the family they could only have a certain amount back but still failed to refund what they had promised.
Luckily, another wheelchair company had heard Archies story and stepped in to help temporarily by supplying another chair for him, however, the family still needed to raise funds again for the chair as well as on going hydrotherapy and physiotherapist sessions.
Archies Mum is one of the strongest ladies I know and no one deserves to go through what she has. So I would like to help by raising whatever I can for Archie and his family.
