Story

Our cricket club has come along way in the last couple of years. My son has been playing since he was about 6 years old. He is now 13, and just been selected for Derbyshire county cricket (very proud mum moment)

Last year we held our first all stars sessions, which helped us introduce an under 9’s team. This year we will be doing all stars again, and have 41 kids signed up and ready for a fun packed summer.

We all worry that our children spend too much time on computer games ect, yet we also don't want them hanging around at the park or on the street corners. It's tough being a parent in a time when there's so much bad stuff out there.

We are very blessed to have a fantastic club, our juniors are fantastic lads, the older ones help out with the training of the younger ones and it's a real joint effort from parents too.

Our children can run around knowing they are safe, parents can relax have a drink/tea/coffee and also know they're children are safe and having fun. It's a real family friendly environment which we would love to make even more accessible for absolutely everyone.

In order to be able to keep our club going (with other clubs around us not so lucky) we hold different events and functions to raise money for continued repairs and maintenance. One area we would love to improve in order for everyone to be able to have access to our facilities would be to have better disabled access, a disable toilet and baby changing facilities.
