I'm raising money for my trip in January to Mbale, Uganda with the charity PONT.
PONT is a charity that links together towns in South Wales to Mbale in Uganda. The linking of professional and organisations in Africa and Wales helps PONT to avoid a top down approach to their aid work. The people of both countries are empowered to develop and realise their own ideas to conquer poverty and how to encourage each other. PONT was in the news when First Minister Carwyn Jones January 2014 First Minister Carwyn Jones made a five-day visit to Mbale, where he visited projects supported by the Wales for Africa programme, including those started by PONT.

In January 2017, a group from Cardiff will be going out to Mbale for 10 days to support the ongoing work and discover how we can best continue the support that PONT gives to the people of Mbale. This is an important trip for me to be able to see how we as a charity and as a country are supporting those who need help.
