I've raised £1500 to Roots Summer appeal

Roots is a recycling and environmental charity aiding the refugee crisis in Northern France. We source used batteries, and refunction them into reusable powerbanks and torches. Supporting charities like Mobile Refugee Support and Dunkirk Women's Centre, our work is vital to the longevity of these worthy causes, and essential to the survival of refugees.
Refugees are displaced almost daily in both Calais and Dunkirk. The police brutality has risen to unparalleled heights, and each day we are shocked by the inhumanity shown so brazenly by others.
Without powerbanks, refugees struggle to find the resources needed to charge their phones, which in turn provide invaluable emotional and economical support. They struggle to get in touch with their families back home. They struggle to contact friends to find somewhere safe to stay. In the current dire conditions that the refugees are surviving in, cutting ties to their loved ones can be incredibly traumatic, and have increasingly negative effects in the future.
At Roots, with your funding, we will be able to support the majority of the refugees camping in the forests of Dunkirk. But to continue the important work that we are doing, we need your support.
