The 2017 Hurricane Season has definitely been one of the worst ever recorded, with the United States, U.S Territories and several Caribbean Islands having been hit hard by a series of catastrophic hurricanes leaving behind a trail of destruction and devastation.

Tens of Thousands of people have had their lives shattered and their homes destroyed irreversibly. This simply means that all these people will have to start the lives they knew and had before from scratch.

Official Individual Direct Assistance Request figures for the various hurricanes currently stand as follows;

Hurricane Harvey - Texas - 213,029 persons

Hurricane Irma - Florida / Puerto Rico / U.S. Virgin Islands / Georgia - 145, 696 persons

Hurricane Irma & Maria - Caribbean Islands - 25,896 persons

These people need Food, Clean Drinking Water, Shelter, Blankets, Clothing, Medical Supplies and eventually a way and means to fully get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.

Hurricanes are natural disasters that none of us have control over. What we do however have control of, is the ability to stretch a helping hand to those affected with resources to help with their current temporal needs and future needs of rebuilding their lives.

With your support, we can make sure that the people caught up in these hurricanes receive the help they desperately need.

Once the situation on the ground stabilizes, Charity and Beyond in conjunction with other Disaster Relief Agencies will help distribute and mobilize resources further for the recovery and rebuilding phase.

As we start this appeal, Charity and Beyond have partnered with several organizations that have committed US$ 100,000 (GBP 74,570) to kickstart this campaign. The same organizations have further committed to chip in an extra US$ 50,000 (GBP 37,285) for every US$ 1,000,000 (GBP 745,500) raised. We are banking greatly on your support to make this a success.

Our approach is different as we aim to provide long term relief to the most affected hurricane victims.

We are looking at support each qualifying affected family with US$ 250 (GBP 187) per month for a period of 6 to 12 months with the most desperate and deserving cases coming up first. This will only be possible with your support.
