Story
The Houghton v’s Wyton ‘Ryder Cup’ is an annual golf event that started in 2001.
This year’s Wyton Village Captain Mr. Stuart Lane aka The Commander, will host this year’s charity event on 22 June 2019. A fun, yet competitive golf match between the two villages.
Stuart's wife Rosie, his two daughters Alice and Sarah, his son Chris and lastly future son in law Phil, who's last name sadly means a free shot in golf 'Mulligan', will be all present on the day. Playing and making sure the day runs smoothly.
Please have a read of this years chosen charity below. All monies raised will go directly to the The Arthur Rank Hospice
The Arthur Rank Hospice supports people in Cambridgeshire living with a life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care. Services are provided free of charge to patients and their families; their aim is to provide the highest quality care, helping make every moment count. The Hospice cares for more than 3600 patients each year in the Hospice in Great Shelford Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes.
As a charity, the Hospice needs to secure £8.1 million every year to deliver its services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. Only about half of this currently comes from commissioned income, so the Charity remains hugely grateful to the local community, which contributes the remainder and whose support is critical in helping make every moment count.
