Earlier in the year, we announced our Fundraising Plan for 2016 where we would be supporting 4 different charities throughout the year each quarter with the People's Choice Charity for Charity Challenge '16. After asking our team members to vote for the charity that means the most to them, we are pleased to announce the charity that we will be supporting for Q2's Charity Challenge 2016.

After receiving a total of 208 votes from across the business, we are pleased to announce the charity that we will be supporting for our Q2 Charity Challenge '16 after receiving a phenomenal 52% of votes is...

    Polymicrogyria Family Support

Polymicrogyria Family Support received a fantastic 109 nominations, coming first with 52%. Kidney Research UK came second with 12.5% and Cancer Research UK third with 3%. Thank you to those who nominated.

Polymicrogyria Family Support is a charity which aims to raise awareness and to provide support to improve the lives of families affected by Polymicrogyria in the UK and Ireland. Polymicrogyria is a rare brain malformation. The word Polymicrogyria (PMG) - can be broken down into 3 parts -'Poly' meaning many, 'micro' meaning very small, and 'gyria' meaning folds in the brain. So put simply it means, 'Too many very small folds in the brain'. By having too many small folds, the brain is unable to process information it receives like a normally formed brain.

Polymicrogyria can affect the whole brain or part of it. The signs and symptoms associated with it depend on how much of the brain, and which particular brain regions, are affected. Polymicrogyria is very rare and as all cases are very different, Doctors are unable to give a prognosis on what lies ahead for adults and Children who have Polymicrogyria in the future.
