Story

Recently made redundant, I am fulfilling a life long ambition to walk from Lands End to John O Groats - 1,109 miles- while raising money for two very worthwhile causes as I take each step! I leave for my epic adventure on May 9th and will be walking for 66 days until 14th July.

I am fundraising for two separate hospices, the Pilgrim's Hospice in Canterbury where my mother was supported during her final days in 2010. The other is the Katharine House Hospice in Stafford where my uncle passed away last year.

The Pilgrims Hospice is East Kent’s largest hospice charity helping people facing incurable illness to live well in every moment.

The Katharine House Hospice in Stafford aims to enable patients with life limiting conditions, and those close to them, to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time that they have left. My cousin works for the team at this hospice.

Hospices in the UK rely hugely on financial donations in order to provide their valuable and unique care. Many were hit hard during the Covid lockdowns when their shops had to close and fundraising events were cancelled.

I aim to raise £2,218 - two pounds for every mile I will be walking!!

Thank you for your support. Stephen
