Charlcombe Community Nature Reserve is a vital haven for wildlife in Bath, from the elusive harvest mouse to badgers, bats, deer, and a wealth of aquatic life. We need your help to unlock the secrets of this special place and help us monitor and protect its inhabitants for generations to come.

We’re inviting you to support our mission to monitor and protect the incredible creatures that call our nature reserve home.

Why We Need Your Help

With habitats under threat, it’s more important than ever to monitor and safeguard our local wildlife. Your donation will help us:

• Track Dormice Safely: We’ve found a beautiful harvest mouse nest among our hazel trees. With a dedicated tracking kit and non-invasive footprint tunnels, we want to see if we have the elusive hazel dormouse on the reserve so that we can protect their fragile population.

• Capture Nocturnal Life: As night falls, the reserve comes alive. A wildlife trail camera will let us record the secret lives of our nocturnal residents - without disturbing their natural behaviours.

• Explore Aquatic Habitats: Our first ponds have been created on the site, and several streams flow through the reserve. Pond dipping equipment will open up a world of discovery for schools, youth groups, and families, helping everyone learn about the amazing aquatic creatures that thrive here.
