Yesterday, Peninah Maghanga, was killed in a dreadful matatu crash outside Voi. She was mum to Eddah and Doris, for those of you who know Jora, who are good friends of the both of us. Peninhah welcomed Liv into her family all those years ago when she first came to Jora, and she was a delight. She was a wonderful lady, kind, funny, and the matriarch of the family. We, along with the rest of Jora, are heartbroken.

The most important thing right now is Peninah's body. There is currently a doctors' strike in Kenya, so her family had to bribe the mortuary staff today to even get in to see her. Getting her ready for the funeral, transporting her back home, and all the expenses that come with that. Her family need cash.

Please, please donate what you can. From Liv's extensive years as a researcher, we know that a family who works hard with their business, like Eddah's, can end up right back at the bottom of the pile again after something like this happens. It's really important right now that this does NOT happen. Even if you can only afford something really small, PLEASE PLEASE send something. It will help this whole, awful situation be more about Peninah and less about money. Thanks.
