I'm raising £12500 to buy specialist medical rehabilitation equipment for Ukraine

Story

Jamie Fraser & I are raising £12,500 to purchase physiotherapy rehabilitation equipment for the Mercy & Health Foundation based in Kyiv. This will be my sixth trip to Ukraine and on this occasion the money will be used to buy complex electrical muscle stimulation devices, posture control, weight bearing hoists and laser scanners. The war has resulted in over 40,000 people losing at least one limb so this equipment will go to very good use. The Foundation has just opened its second rehabilitation centre, treating both mental and physically injured patients be they children, adults or military veterans. In addition they support over 30 hospitals. We will be using a van to transport the equipment and we will also take out other donated items such as crutches, wheel chairs, mobility scooters and massage beds. We also hope to buy some spare parts of the charities's vehicles, getting parts is becoming very difficult and on average each vehicle travels over 2500 km per week, such is the vastness of Ukraine. This is why we raised our target to £12,500 and a huge thank you to all who have donated thus far.

The Mercy & Health clinics operates 7 days a week, now in plummeting temperatures as winter bites and now coping with constant power cuts. Their first clinic is using equipment bought by previous fund raising intiatives and the new one is in urgent need of more equipment. Their instagram post is: rehab_mercy_and_health.

Thank you for any donation, it will be greatly received in Ukraine. The situation on the eastern flank of Europe is becoming desperate, Putin shows no meaningful intention of stopping the war.
